Meeting Immediate Needs.
Building Community Connection.

Macedonia's Community Action programs provide essential resources and foster a sense of belonging for all.

Neighborhood Dinner

Sharing a Meal, Strengthening our Neighbors

Neighborhood Dinner brings residents together to share a free, home-style meal and connect with each other. Held regularly at MFRC, these evenings help turn strangers into neighbors and neighbors into a caring community.

What You Get:

  • Warm, no-cost meal in a welcoming, family-friendly environment

  • Time to connect with neighbors, staff, and community partners

  • Space to share ideas, stories, and needs with people who listen

  • A deeper sense of belonging and hope for our neighborhood’s future

Community Garden

Growing Food, Growing Community

Our community garden is more than a place to get fresh vegetables. It's where neighbors come together, learn about sustainable agriculture, and enjoy growing their own food. Community members can use garden plots, and we offer workshops on gardening, nutrition, and environmental care.

What You Get:

  • Access to community garden plots

  • Gardening workshops and training

  • Fresh produce for your family

  • Opportunities to volunteer and connect

  • Environmental education

Food Pantry

Nutrition & Dignity for Every Family

No one should have to choose between paying bills and having enough to eat. Macedonia's food pantry provides nutritious groceries to families in need, without questions or judgment. Each month, we distribute over 15,000 pounds of food, including fresh produce, dairy, proteins, and pantry staples.

What You Get:

  • Free groceries for your household

  • Fresh produce, proteins, and staples

  • Culturally appropriate food options

  • Respectful, dignified service

  • Monthly distribution opportunities

Food Pantry Details:

    • Social Security Card for everyone in your household

    • Two forms of I.D.

    • Proof of Address (ex. utility bill)

Community Action

Food Insecurity Relief

Food Insecurity Relief programs at MFRC make sure our neighbors never have to choose between paying bills and having enough to eat. With help from our neighborhood and community partners, families get healthy groceries and support during tough times and all year long.

Community Events & Cultural Celebrations

Bringing People Together

We build community by sharing experiences. Macedonia hosts inclusive events throughout the year, like holiday celebrations, cultural heritage festivals, back-to-school drives, and family fun days. All events are free, welcoming, and help people connect and celebrate our diversity.

What You Get:

  • Free, family-friendly events

  • Cultural heritage celebrations

  • Holiday programs and gift distributions

  • Community gatherings and fellowship

  • Opportunities to connect with neighbors

Neighborhood Association

Giving the Community a Voice and a Plan

The Macedonia Neighborhood Association brings residents, MFRC, and city partners together to help shape the neighborhood’s future. By listening to community voices and working on shared priorities, the association turns concerns into action and pride into progress.

What Our Neighborhood Gains:

  • Regular meetings where residents can be heard and informed

  • Collaboration with MFRC and the City of High Point to address local needs

  • Efforts focused on safety, beautification, and reducing crime and blight

  • Stronger connections among neighbors, building trust and long-term stability

Hygiene & Essential Items Distribution

Dignity Starts with Hygiene

With help from Simply the Basics Hygiene Association, Macedonia provides important hygiene items like soap, toothpaste, diapers, feminine products, and more. These supplies are often overlooked, but they are essential for health, dignity, and well-being.

What You Get:

  • Free hygiene kits

  • Diapers and baby supplies

  • Feminine hygiene products

  • Personal care items

  • Quality-controlled, nationally standardized products
